Weird and Wonderful Succulent Wish List

I like to check in on Mountain Crest’s Unusual Varieties category, and they have some really neat new plants up for grabs! Here are several I’m adding to my wish list – get them while you can because some have a limited amount available! Their prices are super reasonable, and MCG always has the best customer service and ships quickly and securely.

As many of you know, I’m a longtime customer and affiliate of theirs and confidently recommend this gorgeous nursery! (Pics by MCG)

Sempervivum globiferum ssp. hirtum ‘Hedgehog’

Look how sweet those little pompoms are! Those are babies that will root on their own. So prolific!

Sempervivum calcareum ‘Grigg’s Surprise’

Someone got her nails did! How awesome is this gal? She looks like she would fit right in Unda tha Sea!

Orostachys malacophylla var. iwarenge – Chinese Dunce Cap

These Dunce Caps are very delicate but Mountain Crest always packs their plants with a lot of love… you don’t see these beauties for sale very often in most parts of the country so get some while you can!

String of Turtles (Peperomia prostrata)

Turtle Power! String of Turtles are very popular lately and for good reason! They do great indoors near a bright window. Propagate cuttings easily by water rooting or potting in dry soil.

Crassula ‘Moonglow’

Won’t you take me to … Chunky Town! These chunky stacks are where it’s at! This is only $5.99 and a great price for a verified Moonglow variety.

Senecio haworthii – Woolly Senecio

These Wooly Senecios are too cute not to have in your collection! The secret to keeping them happy is to water very sparingly while keeping the lower leaves protected from wet soil by using a top dressing like pumice or Turface. They tend to go heat/summer dormant so be careful not to overwater them during that time. They’ll be happiest during the hottest months indoors near a bright window.
